30 Days of Self Care: Day Seven
30 Days of Self Care: Day Seven
Spiritual Self Care
When we work on our spiritual self care we are saying that we can focus on our spiritual, religious or internal thinking. This encompasses your morals and values. It gives you pause in your day as you can reflect on what is more important than your daily hustle and bustle. When we can identify something greater than ourselves, we can trust that God is in our corner, every step of the way. These kinds of self care activities focus on helping you foster a calm mind and a sense of perspective beyond your routine or schedule. Tapping into your spiritual side also helps relieve the compulsion to believe that it's all up to you to solve everything. Letting go and trusting God is easier said than done, because we each have our own internal control buttons that get us sidetracked into thinking we need to control everything and every outcome. Recognizing that God is in control and opening ourselves up to the spiritual inner voice allows us to receive peace and grace when we may not have been able to achieve this on our own. Release your grip and open your hand to the spiritual help that is available for all of us. Trust that your help is on its way. "Let Go and Let God." Then help someone else.
Remember: We must serve ourselves first in order to go out and better serve the world. Spend time with God today. Help others with your time, talents or treasures, spreading kindness along the way.
