Stand Strong in Your Faith

Stand Strong in Your Faith

Jesus shows us in the bible according to several disciples' writings, that when he was in the wilderness, the devil came at him with constant temptation that he had to endure and overthrow. When Jesus returned to the men, he shared three of these instances so that they would understand what the devil's intentions are for all of us. What struck me in this passage was that the devil was attempting to persuade Jesus to be murdered by his own hand. If you ever wonder if the devil is really all that bad, this passage alone in Luke chapter 4 verses 9-13 shows the deceitfulness and desire of ultimate destruction of God's creation and plan by the hands of the devil. Why did Jesus share this with the disciples? The message is for all of us: stand firm in your faith with God. Do not let the devil have a foothold in your life, in any circumstance, with no regard for any consideration. He is out to seek and destroy. Your roots MUST be firmly planted. God is not to be tested. He doesn't need to prove His love for us by taking a leap! Let the Word of God be our sword and our faith in the Word be our shield. Dig into the Word and let God show you how much he loves and cares for you.

And Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
