Overcoming Spiritual Dryness

Overcoming Spiritual Dryness

Have you ever felt completely distant from God or are not growing spiritually? Maybe you aren't witnessing God working in your life and your troubles are mounting till you can't see a way out. Are you searching for God in a dry and parched land where there is no water? What do you do about it? Help!
“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” —Psalm 63:1
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Pray earnestly. Seek other believers to spend time together in Christian fellowship.
  1. These ways will indeed pull you out of your season of dryness.
Drawing yourself closer to God will allow you to cling to him when you cannot go it alone. Read 2Timothy 3:16-17
  2. Praying with honesty and sincerity produces authentic conversation with God. He knows your heart, whether it's happy or sad, overflowing or dry. Persistence in prayer is key as in Luke 18:1.
  3. The term "Koinonia" is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible. Koinonia’s primary meaning is “fellowship, sharing in common, communion.” The first occurrence of koinonia is Acts 2:42, “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Christian fellowship is a key aspect of the Christian life. Believers in Christ are to come together in love, faith, and encouragement.
If you find yourself slipping into a spiritual dryness, consider these things and you will find that God does offer solutions to come to your aid.
We are better together.
Have a blessed day, Kimala
