Fruits of the Spirit: Patience
Fruits of the Spirit: Patience
DAY THREE: PATIENCE
"But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."--Romans 8:25
"I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary."--Revelations 2:3
There are many fruits of the Spirit, but the characteristic trait of Patience is one that takes a long time to produce. In its very nature of waiting and enduring, we find ourselves growing tired. But God says to take hope! We will not see all that God is laying before us, and He wants us to have the stamina to endure this race He has set before us. Another part of patience is trusting in our Lord and trusting in His word. Patience takes time. One of the things I have grown to realize is that it does not mean to just sit and wait. You can be actively doing all that God wants you to do AND have patience while doing what He has called you to do. Get on your feet and show patience in action.
PATIENCE
Definition of patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.
Other synonyms are forbearance, tolerance, restraint, resignation.
THE TASK TODAY: Keep pressing forward. God does not want us to sit and wait. He wants us to grow our patience in action. Patience is a quality of self-restraint or of not giving way to anger, even in the face of provocation; it is attributed to both God and man and is closely related to mercy and compassion. We can be examples to others of how to move through trials and tribulations with patience, no matter what, continuing to hold onto the hope we have in the return of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
We are better together.
Have a blessed day, Kimala
