Fruits of the Spirit: Faithfulness
Fruits of the Spirit
DAY EIGHT: Faithfulness
"Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man."--Proverbs 3:3-4
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments."--John 14:15
"For we walk by faith, not by sight."--2Corinthians 5:7
God simply wants us to be faithful to Him and his commandments. We are to carry them around in our hearts and minds and be clear to follow them. Thank goodness he doesn't mind that we don't carry them on large carved stones like Moses. We may not visibly see God, but we need to trust that His is the living God and takes care of us in all ways. He blesses those who believe in Him. He provides when we need. Let us not waver in our faith, but continue to grow strong roots in the Lord.
DEFINITION
Faithfulness is the quality of being faithful; fidelity. loyalty, devotion, constancy, trueness, trueheartedness.
In the bible says faithfulness comes from a place of trust and loyalty. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is a confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” As a Christian, it is important to be faithful to God. Faithfulness requires us to submit our ways to God.
THE TASK TODAY: Perhaps you need a refresher of the Ten Commandments today. Look in Exodus 20:2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21. Read them aloud. Write them down. Post them if you have to. Tuck them inside your purse so you have to shuffle around them whenever you go for something needed. Reminders are good for us, keeping them in the forefront of our minds. Whatever you decide, praise God for being in relationship with you and shower him with praises of your faithfulness to the Lord your God.
We are better together.
Have a blessed day, Kimala
