A Fool's Mouth That Runs Amuck

A Fool's Mouth that Runs Amuck

Have you ever wished you could take something back that you said the exact moment you said it? The old saying "regret is a hard pill to swallow" is something I've experienced before. Another one: "think before you speak" is such good advice, isn't it? God points to us the senseless use of our mouth that can cause us havoc with our souls. It stands to reason that if we run our mouths with negativity, ill talk of others or situations at hand, or certainly continue on until we are provoked to anger ourselves or cause others to anger, all of these things lead to sin.
If it's not good for anyone, don't say it!
"A fool's mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul."--Proverbs 18:7
Let's try today to remind ourselves about the power of the mouth and keep it shut if it will only cause us to stumble. Easier said than done! Especially for all of us talkers! Happy Fools Day, ya'll.

PRAYER

Lord, such a great reminder that our mouths are the beginning of a tricky trail to ruin. Let me be conscious today of any ill talk or negativity that should try to sprout up. I will stop it in its tracks and listen to your word. If I happen to fall into a conversation with others that seems to be headed towards gossip, I will not join in. I will be reminded that it will indeed bring about my sinful nature and walk away. Thank you Lord, for your ways are so good for me. You continue to teach me how to behave and live a godly life that is pleasing to you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
We are better together.
Have a blessed day, Kimala
