Let the Trees Sing

 Let the Trees Sing

Have you ever spent time in the stillness of the forest? There is such a reverence for God when you are alone in the woods. The trees have a way about them. They sway in the wind, rustle their leaves in unison and even let off a crackle popping sound when needed. If I let my imagination run away, I can envision the Holy Spirit's wind move through the forest allowing the trees to sing unto the Lord. We find beautiful quotes like this:
"And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul."--John Muir
The bible says in 1 Chronicles 16:33--
"Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth."

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary states: 16:7-36 Let God be glorified in our praises. Let others be edified and taught, that strangers to him may be led to adore him. Let us ourselves triumph and trust in God. Those that give glory to God's name are allowed to glory in it. Let the everlasting covenant be the great matter of our joy his people of old, be remembered by us with thankfulness to him. Show forth from day to day his salvation, his promised salvation by Christ. We have reason to celebrate that from day to day; for we daily receive the benefit, and it is a subject that can never be exhausted. In the midst of praises, we must not forget to pray for the servants of God in distress.

PRAYER

Lord, thank you for giving me the forest to step into. I know that we have so many reasons surrounding us to sing praises unto you. Day by day, I will rejoice your name. In every season, in every situation, in all that I do, I will praise you. No matter what happens, I trust you. My salvation is with you alone. I am thankful that I can go into the woods and stand among the trees singing for joy. Thank you for the gift of today. In Jesus name, Amen.
We are better together.
Have a blessed day, Kimala
