Be Fed with your Bible
Be Fed with your Bible
Anyone will tell you that I absolutely love a hot cup of something first thing in the morning. Mostly it's my love affair with coffee, but on occasion I will have a cup of chai or tea. I can admit that when I don't have it, I'm just not right, sort of like getting out of the wrong side of the bed (an old cliche' I know). More importantly, when I'm not face first in my bible, I'm left to my own devices. I'm left to my own thoughts and fleshly ways in dealing with my day. God says to meditate on his word day and night. You can't do that if you don't spend time in your bible.
No more excuses. Make it a daily habit to read God's word.
Don't have time? Get up 20 minutes earlier. Or spend the last 20 minutes of your day reading your bible.
Don't have a bible? There are a bazillion bible apps that can be on your phone or computer.
Don't know what to read? You can research that too, on the internet for reading plans.
Don't understand what you are reading? Pull up an online sermon or follow a favorite pastor and open to what they're preaching on.
Need others to help you along? Go to church. Find a small group that studies the bible in their home or online. Join an online community group. Ask other friends or family to join you in this thirst for digging deeper in the word.
"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."--Joshua 1:8
"But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”--Matthew 4:4
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for your word. It is indeed a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Help me see daily what scripture you have for these eyes to read and this mouth to recite. Pour your message out and into my heart. I long to learn more about you and your ways. I want to grow closer each day to you and follow your ways for me. I know that through endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures I can have hope. Your word is so much more comfort to me than my cup of coffee and I am more energized by your word than caffeine! Thank you God for planting me face first into your word. I am only delivered by you leading me where you would have me go. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
We are better together.
Have a blessed day, Kimala
