30 Days of Self Care: Day Twenty-Six
30 Days of Self Care: Day Twenty-Six
Sensory Self Care
Sensory self care begins with you in mind. Utilizing your senses to enhance your view of yourself and the world around you, is crucial to our overall perception of who we are, what are our characteristics and traits unique to us and how we fit in the society we live in. For each of us, some senses are heightened more than others. You may enjoy things visibly seen with your eyes, while another may enjoy things they can physically touch. Put a group of people in one room with specific sights, sounds, smells and objects, and each will exit with different stories of what stood out for them while in the room. Allow yourself the gift of using your senses to provide self care in a way that you most enjoy. Be kind to yourself in the process. How you behave and interact with the things around you is special. Not everyone has your unique talents and abilities. Give yourself permission that when you need to unplug from life's way of creating stress for you, tap into your authentic self and explore the world around you with your senses. Do those things that truly light you up and bring you the most joy. Love yourself so that you can give that love to others and so much more. Take good care because there is only one you!
Remember: We must serve ourselves first in order to go out and better serve the world. Loving ourselves begins with you. Get comfortable in your own skin and be good to yourself. Then let others experience all that you have to offer.
