30 Days of Self Care: Day Twenty-Four
30 Days of Self Care: Day Twenty-Four
Physical Self Care
It's no surprise when we think about physical self care, that we find it the most challenging as we age. Our bodies enjoy becoming more sedentary, yet they require more activity and healthcare to keep them going in order to live a longer life. More often, we may think we do not have the time or the energy to jump up and do something physically active. This is to encourage you to begin where you are, starting small, with what you have, today. Eat nutrient dense foods. It’s a lot of small decisions throughout the day that all have the power to make you feel your best. Feeling your best may look like maintaining healthy blood sugar, yet for others, it may look like eating enough protein throughout the day. Adding some leafy greens, high-quality protein, and healthy fats can make a drastic difference. Move your body daily. Do something--horseback riding, yoga, walks, etc. The challenge is to find whatever movement works best for you. Prioritize your sleep. Get enough rest in, so that your days allow you to function at your peak performance. Drink enough water, at least 60-80 ounces per day to allow your brain and body to function well. Start doing some or all of these and begin to feel GREAT!
Remember: We must serve ourselves first in order to go out and better serve the world. Consider all aspects of physical self care and begin your journey today towards living out your days in top peak performance through nutrition, exercise, sleep, and proper water intake.
