30 Days of Self Care: Day Thirteen
30 Days of Self Care: Day Thirteen
Social Self Care
When we work on our Social Self Care we are saying to our selves that human connectedness is truly where it's at. Go back to Day Six to read again the description of what Social Self Care is and why it's so important.
Friendships and family can be indeed a treasure. We need people in our lives to lift us up when we are down, to cheer us on when we accomplish good things, to pull us back when we get ahead of ourselves and to listen in our times of need. These friendships can come from neighborhood, work, church, team, organization, volunteer group, support group and so on. The family unit is designed to have layers, starting with your immediate family of spouse and/or children, your parents and siblings, then extended family of your grandkids, grandparents, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, then the next layer of great aunts/uncles/nieces/nephews along with layers of cousins and so on. Let's not forget the people we meet online. For some, your paths may have crossed in a chat room, online groups, social media platforms, google work groups or online contracted work, community groups or more. Whatever way you decide to get your social self care met, remember to take care of you today and stay plugged in with people.
Remember: We must serve ourselves first in order to go out and better serve the world. Bring yourself around family, friends or even strangers to get your social self care met. Being out in public can do wonders, joining up with a group to do an activity or even connecting with someone you care about are all good ways to fulfill your social self care needs. Meet up today.
